Vera Berardi, in art Vera Vera, was born in Cesena in 1996.
She lived and worked in Brescia since 2015 until 2019. She graduates in sculpture at the SantaGiulia Academy of Fine Arts in Brescia. She attended the first year of Biennale in Contemporary Visual Arts at the same Academy.
Her research investigates family relationships and social relationships, analyzing their influences in the definition and construction of identity. Her artistic path is declined in sculptural, installative and performative practices, working on the principles of definition, disfiguration, denial of the ideal of the canon and also in the cathartic staging of the trauma. All areas of language develop the focal themes of her research.
She currently investigates social relationships on Instagram by creating works in collaboration with the online audience.
The group of sculptures was born from the artist’s desire to create interaction with the Online audience.
The works are the result of a double operation: on the one hand, the sculptural one created in the atelier; on the other, a second phase saw the collaboration of the people of the Social Networks: the photographs of the works were in fact published on the artist’s social channels, who asked all users to write her comments and words regarding what they were seeing, summarizing the invitation in a laconic:TELL ME WORDS.
All the words received were then imprinted on the skin of the sculptures using movable characters. The finished work thus becomes a critical investigation on the relationship between what we show and what we are, on the false masks we wear in front of the society that sees us. it is the consequence of a sentimental experience born on Social: an idealization and a falling in love which then resulted in a disappointment in the clash with reality. Hence the desire to investigate the truth or the absence of truth in human interactions on Social where the presence of a filtering screen allows masking.
Provocative and unknown words represent for the artist the unknown world of Internet, sometimes dangerous.

Vera Berardi, in arte Vera Vera, nasce a Cesena nel 1996.
Vive e lavora a Brescia dal 2015 al 2019. Consegue la Laurea triennale in Scultura presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti SantaGiulia di Brescia. Ha frequentato il primo anno del Biennio in Arti Visive Contemporanee presso la medesima Accademia. La sua ricerca indaga le relazioni famigliari e i rapporti sociali, analizzandone le influenze nella definizione e costruzione dell’identità.
Il suo percorso artistico si declina nelle pratiche scultoree, installative e performative, lavorando sui principi della defigurazione, sfigurazione, negazione dell’ideale del canone e nella messa in scena anche catartica del trauma. Tutte le aree di linguaggio sviluppano i temi focali della sua ricerca.
Attualmente indaga i rapporti sociali su Instagram realizzando opere in collaborazione con il pubblico online.
Il gruppo di sculture nasce dalla volontà dell’artista di creare interazione con il pubblico Online.
Le opere sono il risultato di una doppia operazione: da un lato, quella scultorea realizzata in atelier; dall’altra una seconda fase ha visto la collaborazione del popolo dei Social Network: le fotografie delle opere sono state infatti pubblicate sui canali social dell’artista, che ha chiesto a tutti gli utenti di scriverle commenti e parole relativamente a quanto stavano vedendo, riassumendo l’invito in un laconico: TELL ME WORDS.
Tutte le parole ricevute, sono state poi impresse sulla pelle delle sculture tramite caratteri mobili. L’ opera finita diventa così indagine critica sulla relazione tra ciò che mostriamo e ciò che siamo, sulle false maschere che indossiamo davanti alla società che ci vede.Questo bisogno è la conseguenza di un’esperienza sentimentale nata sui Social: un’ idealizzazione e un innamoramento poi sfociati in una delusione nello scontro con la realtà. Da qui è nato il desiderio di indagare la verità o l’assenza di verità nelle interazioni umane sui Social dove la presenza di uno schermo filtrante permette il mascheramento.
Le parole provocatorie e quelle sconosciute rappresentano per l’artista il mondo sconosciuto di Internet, talvolta pericoloso.
